Nokia 2.3 announced: A new budget smartphone from Nokia.


 


   Nokia 2.3, a brand new smartphone from Nokia. In an event held in Cairo, Egypt, Nokia officially announced their brand new budget smartphones named Nokia 2.3. It features a bigger display, better camera, a juicier battery than its predecessor: the Nokia 2.2. I found it interesting and better than its predecessor. Now Let us see more about this device in this article. Let us began.

Overview of Nokia 2.3


Display and Design:




   Talking about its display, it is packed with a bigger 6.2-inched IPS LCD panel. It could have been better in Nokia 2.3 featured with an FHD+ resolution instead of an HD+ panel. But ya it is obvious that higher resolution leads to more consumption of battery life. So maybe this is reason for its HD+ panel. But overall display quality seems good and of course you can experience better color on it.



   Coming to its design, I had always loved the design of Nokia smartphones. Since past couples of year, we have seen the same design in Nokia’s product but this time in Nokia 2.3 you will get to all new vertical ridge across the phone’s back. In Nokia 2.3, you can see a overall build material of plastic while it has a metallic frame for that premium look. In phone you can feel the 2.5D curved design for better grip. This curved edges has added clean premium look to it.

Camera:


   Nowadays, many people are on to mobile photography. They love to use mobile camera for photography as it is more portable and convenient but as we know for great photography we demand a great camera setup up to its price range. So, Nokia has packed in an additional depth sensor on Nokia 2.3 along with its primary lens for great camera experience.


   Here, you will get a dual camera setup. You will get a 13MP primary shooter along with 2MP depth sensor for great photography experience at this price range. In this camera setup you can have a great portrait shots. For selfie, you will get a 5MP selfie camera housed in water drop notch. As I mentioned before, in Nokia 2.3, company has tried a change in design so you can see change in its notch. As before in Nokia 2.2 we had seen `U’ shaped cutout but in Nokia 2.3, you will get to see subtler `V’ shaped water drop notch.




   In Nokia 2.3, you can experience great shutter shots and additionally company is promising for decent low light photography. They have provided 5 different effects (classic, rain, butterfly, heart, star) for the background blur effect which will help to get amazing portrait shots.



Performance:


   In our busy world, we all have to perform a lot of task with our daily basis. For this you rely on our smartphones. For this, we need a smartphones with powerful processor depending on its price range. Even we all play games for relaxing and refreshing our mind. As before in Nokia 2.2, here in Nokia 2.3 we get to see Helio A22 a quad-core processor powered with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. But nowadays other budget phones with similar price range have provided better processor. In this section, Nokia 2.3 lags behind and I hope that company will think on it.

Battery:


   In tech market, budget phone with a huge battery is a trending. Isn’t it? Majority of people in the market are in search for device with huge battery. They are not performance oriented but battery oriented. They need a great battery power. They are ok with decent performance for great battery backup.

   In the case of Nokia 2.3, you will get a 4000mAh battery which is trending in this price range and a good battery for all this specs. This battery is AI-assisted battery which is supposed to tracks the app’s usage and it will help to enhance battery life. The company says Nokia 2.3 will give you a 2 day battery. Let see that if the claim has any truth or not.

   Since past couple of years, we have seen that Nokia has great track record of updated on its smartphones. Here Nokia 2.3 is certified Android One and  you will receive at least two years of OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates.  And Nokia has made more emphasis on dedicated Google Assistant button which is also in Nokia 2.3.


    Coming on its pricing and availability in Nepal, we can just get approx. amount. The global pricing of Nokia 2.3 is 109 Euros with this we can exchange and make approx. of NRs. 13,785 in Nepal. Talking on it availability, the exact date is still a mystery, there is no announcement on it but it is obvious it can come in Nepal with amazing aggressive pricing strategy which will be good for customers.
