Active Noise Cancellation : All you need to know.

Active Noise Cancellation, a technology that has already existed for a while now, but I got to know that many people don't know exactly what it is. During its launch and at those time it was expensive to implement in headphones. However, in today's market we can now see many headphones with this technology in it in low cost. Well, It is clear as its name, what it does is clear as named. But I have found many viewers asking for explaining all details about in a article shortly. So, throughout this article you will get to know about active noise cancellation technology, its working, advantages, disadvantages and many more. So lets start this interesting read😀.

Active Noise Cancellation.

Guys, talking about it simply, it is a technology that helps to cancel all unnecessary noise or sounds. Active Noise Cancellation was firstly invented by Lawrence Fogel in 1950s. This technology was firstly used for the well being of pilot of airplanes and helicopters. This technology do not block any sound directly. Firstly it listens to the sound and after that produce a sound wave to produce destructive resonance and finally that targets sound is reduced.

How does it works?

Guys, as mentioned above, it produce a reverse frequency sound to cut  down the targeted sound or noise. For this, Active Noise Cancellation uses more than one microphone to detect the most steady sound outside like hum of aircrafts, helicopters, railways and many more. This technology detect those sound out from irregular sound like voice and so on. After this, it produce a reverse frequency, equal in amplitude but opposite in phase to that of original steady sound. This causes a phenomena called destructive interference which low than the sound in some case if reverse frequency is correct enough to cut down it totally. In such case, you will not hear any noise.
In this technology, it reduce only those steady sound or noise and keep the irregular sound like voice, so it is not a sound proofing technology but help to reduce unwanted noise from environment. That why this technology is used in mobile phone too, in order to have a quality and quite phone call in crowded and noisy places.
Talking about it efficient and effectiveness, then there is something called Passive Noise Isolation which is combined with Active Noise Cancellation helps to get great output. It is pretty sure, many of you don't know about Passive Noise Isolation but don't I will explain it in short and get to you with the difference between these two technology. So let's began.

Difference between Active Noise Cancellation and Passive Noise Isolation.

As I already mentioned above about the working of Active Noise Cancellation as it uses active method to reduce sound via many phenomena. Isn't it? But in Passive Noise Isolation it is totally different and simple case. As both working techniques are simply mentioned in their name, here Passive Noise Isolation uses Passive method. This technology is not as complicated as Active Noise Cancellation. It simply uses layers or pad for blocking the sounds. It is like using earmuff or earplug to block sounds. But it can not block loud sound so it less efficient than Active Noise Cancellation.

So, it should be noticed that both technology works differently but still if they are combined then it will give us good output. So, Active Noise Cancellation works best combined with Passive Noise Isolation.

Advantages of Active Noise Cancellation.

Talking about its advantages, there are many advantages but the biggest and most obvious advantages is its silence. The silence it provide is very helpful to concentrate on our work with proper focus, able us to sleep in crowded place, and keep us cut off from entire noise, stress of work through peaceful environment. Isn't it?
As mentioned before, this technology was invented firstly for pilot to get relief from hum and loud sound of aircraft and helicopters, it is still used in aircraft and helicopters to avoid hum sound and have a quality communication, and sound sleep is airplane cabin.
Listening music, watching movies with best sound quality makes our break time awesome, it makes the experience for amazing with great sound quality and no disturbance, this is what we needed, isn't it? Like this there are many more advantage but this were main advantage that was must to discuss. Now it is better to move on to its disadvantage. Yes, you heard it write, there are some disadvantage that are necessary to discuss below. So, let's begin.

Disadvantages of Active Noise Cancellation.

Now talking about its disadvantages, then we get to know that sometime this technology can not work as efficiently as needed. Sometime it mess it out between sounds. Sometime the reverse frequency can also reduce the irregular sound. It can match with some part of irregular sound and make the message incomplete or reduced. So, it is one of its disadvantages.
Talking about it another disadvantage, that is it cost of implement. It is more expensive. You have to pay a lot in headphone with active noise cancellation than the ordinary wireless headphones. Due to its high cost, it is not affordable for many buyers. So, I found it as second major disadvantage. But as market and technology are growing, we hope it cost will get down soon.

Conclusion

As I tried to put all main and important information about Active Noise Cancellation, I hope this article was helpful for you. And I hope now you are well known about it. Now you can make your our judgement on this technology as I mentioned all its advantages and disadvantages. But if you still have queries on it then you can ask me on comment section. Please keep supporting like this. Thankyou✌.
